It was 28th of March 2008. I was in my room with 3 friends. Nerva, Lala and Oneng. We’re crazy about knitting stuff. So it’s like an old house with 4 old ladies knitting scarves, hand bag and a hat. 8pm, Nerva asked me, “Will we turn all the lights off for Earth Hour? I don’t think I can do the crochet in the dark.”
I said, “No. Just the unused lamps.”
Then at 8.30 – 9.30 pm we turned the unused lamps of, including television and fan. It was a lil bit cold that night. I kept my ear on the phone, calling my friends to remind them to turn their lights off. I actually started to text my friends and also Semarang mayor’s wife, Bu Sinto two days before. But since Semarang’s mayor was busy with his son’s wedding, so that he couldn’t understand my message. Fiuh…Anyway
I was actually plan to turn all the lights off and just turn a candle or two, but since I have companies with me, so I changed my plan.
And today, I got an email from a friend with subject: EARTH HOUR the big picture or something like that. He linked me with a site that shows the Earth Hour around the country. You should watch this beautiful pictures. Don’t forget to click on every pictures one by one, and you will see the dark version of the cities. It’s cool.
One thing that crossing my mind when I see all the pictures. All the city land mark doesn’t loose it’s beauty even when they’re in the dark. Besides, only in the dark, we can see the shiny stars. Sounds like a song, right?
We actually can do this Earth Hour thing everytime. This is as simple as turn off the unuse lamps or other electricity tools. So, what’s your experience during the earth hour??
i was in Taman Anggrek watching for COAS at that time. and off course lamp in my room is off :p

Hwell.. I didn’t turn off the unused lamps. I shut down the electricity rite from the central.
I burned some candles and play guitar and… Facebooking with my cellphone hehehe. I think we shud do the earth hour more often. It’s cool, peaceful, romantic and cost nothing. Btw, wud u pass me the email u mentioned?
