Today, I got a very simple question from Munif my blogging friend. He asked me, what I think about celebrating new year’s eve. And this is my answer;
I’m no longer into celebrating new year’s eve with party, hype music, drink, fireworks, and all that. Been there, done that. You know it’s kind of a perfect way, wasting or burning our money. Like we have that much, gitu!! Hahaha
No no no… I mean, if you want to celebrate new year eve with party, that’s fine. We always have choices right? As I choose not to. Why bother? I had a thought that the esence of celebrating new year’s eve, is in the counting down the seconds before they go to zero. 
Am I right? Or am I right?
If only I was right, I choose to count from 10 to 0 every night before I go to zzzland. Cos days are the same for me. 1st of January to 31st of December are only numbers. What we do among them that makes them different.
If you would argue me, that some people celebrate new year’s eve cos they want to make new resolutions. Well… I will as well argue with the same answer. Just make a new resolution everytime we open up our eyes. Dear God, I want to do my sit up 40 times today. Or, Dear Whatever, I’ll quit cheating my boyfriend.
And by the night before we counting down from 10 – 0, we simply thank God cos we had fulfill our resolution. Or if we don’t, simply review what we’ve done today, so that we forget about the resolution.
But if you still want to party party… That’s fine. It’s your call.
And Munif asked me what I want to do this new year eve.
Me?
I want to hug someone I love. Could be Vanya in Cilegon, my mom or my dad, my lil sister or brother in Lampung, or my beloved (hopefully) future lover in Jakarta, Jogja, or Semarang? Hahaha… “ngarep” version.
What about you?
New year’s eve means hanging out with family and friends. Not necesserily parties whatsoever, I just love spending the night with the people I love and care about: family and friends 🙂

When everyone’s doing their bedol desa to Bali, I’ll catch my beauty sleep and wake up on the next year.
